Destiny- As in my way

Is it the fact or myth when people say “It happened because it was supposed to happen?” Relations are by god’s grace, is it destiny or something else? It’s been hard for me to believe few things, but later felt all was supposed to happen.

I read in newspaper about a guy who jumped in front of train to test God power, people say he was jerk. Right now he has his limb cut and a visitor said “Its destiny, it was supposed to happen and it did”.

I thought if he would have not jumped it won’t have happened???

Though hard but fact is still the same, we say whatever happened was destined. We live in a very conservative world and can’t change past but can live in reality and plan for future. Only thing in our hand is to plan things as we like, whether it happens accordingly is all hardship mixed with luck. People call it destiny when things are over and it becomes history.

If I talk about marriage, people say pairs are made in heaven. People meet talk and marry, all called destiny, but still I feel a lot thoughtful on it. People marry and many divorces too, were they married to wrong person and wrongly destined?

All given names of fate and destiny by us only. If death is called nature so is destiny? We all believe in God, never seen only heard by ancestors. Is God myth or truth, right now I don’t want to argue over the issue but I believe in God as I get inner power and support whenever I am low and alone.

An atheist says that it’s our brain who instructs us to pursue things, whether right or wrong.

While god’s disciple says that it’s the supreme power who guides us through to do things, whether right or wrong. Sometimes I feel a lot disheartened when things are not going in my favor, that also after my best efforts. When I discussed with a friend he told that’s destiny dear. It was supposed to happen. I think and say to all that if things were supposed to happen then why we all put our efforts to change the things in our favor. We can sit quietly and let things happen.

Finally I disagreed to destiny by luck and believe in destiny by efforts and whatever fails to happen in favor I will think nothing.

The Unknown--A NEW DARK HORROR SERIES OF THRILLOGY SHORT STORIES THAT I WILL POST SOON

HI I AM WRITING An EXCITING SERIES OF SHORT STORIES BASED ON CHILLING HORROR EXPERIENCES SET IN A FANTASY WORLD CALLED THE CURSON AND HERE'S AN EXCERPT OF THE FIRST SHORT STORY IN THE SERIES WHICH I WILL POST SOON

She wandered deep into the woods, on that full moon day, clad in a white frock, hearing the chilling cries of the birds. She was fully wet and she trembled with fear, swallowing a groan of pain. She touched her face and gasped for breath. It was something which had hit her. Maybe it was a monster? She began to recall what her mother said about monsters in the woods. Her mother had warned her not to hang out deep in the woods. It was too close. She might have lost her life. She must get back home now. She had certainly lost her way. Then, she came to a small pond and began to drink water. It tasted very bad! All of a sudden she felt something grasping her in the darkness. She turned around to see and she shrieked in horror! That horrible, ugly thing that got her was here! Without wasting a second, she turned around and ran for her life. But the monster caught her and dragged her and kept on dragging till it reached a grave and it plunged her in. The girl was unconcious and thought it was over, but little did she know that her body had carved her way into the unknown--INTO THE LAND OF NIGHTMARES--INTO THE LAND OF CURSON!

THE MILKMAID

The morning sun rays faded a little and the sky looked dark. But the weather couldn’t bother the milkmaid, as she looked happy today. Everyday was an adventure to her. As usual, she had been to the meadow to milk her cows and she was now returning home with a big pail of creamy white milk in her head. Everyone in the village would get milk today, she thought. She walked carefully watching her footsteps. She then, hummed a tune and looked up at the sky and could sense the raindrops falling in her head. Quickly she ran and hid under a big tree with her pail of milk. But in the process, her leg abruptly hit a rock and the milk fell and crashed into the ground. Her happy face now became sad. She lost all her mirth. “What will I do now? The villagers have to go without milk and it’s my entire fault. How will I face the villagers?” she cried. She kept crying for some time and then suddenly she thought about the parting words of her mother.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths"

She closed her eyes and prayed to God and asked him to help her. Then she slowly got up to move when she saw a boy with a pot in his head coming from a distance, in the rain. He came near and spoke. “Auntie, we had a party in our house and a lot of milk was left over. I was searching for someone to give it to. Will you take it?”

The milkmaid smiled. She thanked the boy and took the pot of milk. There were tears of joy in her face. God’s ways are certainly unique, she thought. Slowly she took the milk and she began to walk to the village. The rain had stopped and the sun shone brightly in the sky.

His Own World---A short paragraph

A CREATIVE ENTERTAINER..(There is no story in it. Its just a short para I wrote long back. I want to continue it, but still I feel I have written more than enough about this.)

HIS OWN WORLD

Once upon a time there lived a man who was so creative and imaginative. This fanciful man would only spend all his day in his own dream world. He would be whimsical and poetical to his standards. He would be so inventive and would see each and every thing to a quality so enterprising and fabulous. He would be engrossed in artistic activity and would be so productive and fertile. He would have his own dream worlds with his own characters and sceneries. To tell about him a little more---- He was a gifted genius. He would read a lot and write and have his own views and he lived in a fantasy world. He was shunned and rejected by many people who believed him to be mad. He was treated cruelly as a lunatic. He was an unrecognized person in the society and lived a poor, bad life. But Creativity which belonged to God ranked him the best and gave him a place in its own cosmos after the man's death. He became the most blessed and blissful and attained the state of inner salvation and the joy of heaven. He was the man who attained contentment He was the man who attained happiness......

How My Grandfather Caught A Rat

(This story is pure fiction and was made up to give a good laugh! I wrote this assuming, that I was born before 1970 where there was neither technology nor youtube in India to assist anyone in catching a rat!)

You might not believe me if I say that my grandfather was a well-built man! You would have to think again if I say that he was really mentally quick or acute! That is because he had the slightest trouble in doing a tiny job—“Catching a fat rat out of our house”! As my grandfather was very orthodox, he would not use rat poison, as he thought it was a sin. Here in India, to catch a rat long back in 1970 without the use of a pest control man is tough! But let me proceed with the story..

It all began one morning in November the 6th (I could still remember the day) when I woke up very quickly, hearing a thud and then a loud noise and something crash and clatter! I was shocked to see that there was utter chaos in the house. My grandfather was running from one end to the other, in a wild manner as if he was searching for something he lost miserably! “Grandpa, what is happening?” I shouted. “Oh! My boy! You woke up already?” he asked. “Yes! But what is happening in the house? Why all the noise? Why are you so excited?” I asked in a hurry. “Nothing my son, there is a fat rat in the room! We had enough of rodent droppings! I am trying to find the rat from daylight. The wicked rat has bitten all my books and office papers. It has eaten away all the bread and cheese in the house! And now, I am trying to get rid of it” he babbled angrily, with a snort. “Ha! Is that all? I will catch it for you” I said laughing, as I couldn’t control my laughter. I questioned him again, “But, how did it get in to the house?”. Grandfather replied in a hurry, looking for the rat under the bed. “I just can’t figure that out. Maybe because of the heavy rain yesterday, the rat sought some shelter and unfortunately found only our house for that!”

Then, all of a sudden the rat came out from under my bed and bit grandfather’s toe in a jiffy and rushed out from the room. “Ouch!” shouted my grandfather, “This rat is a nuisance!” We ran out of the room and went into the hall. Grandmother came out from the kitchen and spoke. “Did you catch it? The neighbors just called and asked what was happening in our house and what the commotion is?”. “Forget the neighbors! We need to catch that brat! But let’s try not to use poison” my grandfather murmured irritably. We tried to catch the rat the entire day. But we just couldn’t find it. It just disappeared. The place became quiet. “I think it’s gone!” said grandmother. “No! It’s still there lingering somewhere! Maybe it might have got into the bathroom!” said grandfather, “I will definitely try to catch it tomorrow! But let’s make sure that never to let another rodent in the house. Then, the rodents could multiply and it would become a tough job”

Evening passed and at night my grandfather was sleeping soundly, when he felt some sort of sensation running through his body. Now, to describe more about that, my grandfather was actually wearing a half pant and the clever rat had just the time to creep up inside the pant, which was rather a big pant to allow any rodent in it. At the count of the next few seconds my grandfather woke up the entire house, shouting and screaming at the top of his lungs. “Help! It’s the rat!” At the next moment he was laughing as if someone was tickling him and then started to scream again! The rat jumped out and started to sprint. Grandfather took a stick and began to chase it. He was in a rage, now! Grandmother helped in opening the big back door (we usually had for the servants to come in) and the rat rushed out, followed by the grandfather and me. We forgot that it was 12.00 in the night and we made a terrible noise. All the neighbors got up and came out. In a hurry I had the rat trap with peanut butter, in my hand but the rat was very quick. It got into the huge dustbin in the road and dug its way in to the bottom. My grandfather still wanted revenge. He began to dig the smelly dustbin filled with junk, food and snacks, I threw some in yesterday. Luckily he caught the rat’s tail and the rat was trying to get away. It began to shiver and dance. My grandfather put the rat into the rattrap and shut it and shouted. “Hurrah!” and started to hop with joy, showing the captured rat trap to the neighbors, as they all joined in the fun. Sorry to say, the story ends here, when my grandfather took the rattrap carrying the rat and walking for a mile and leaving it way far behind, in a deserted ruined area!
After the death of grandfather and grandmother, I still have that old smelly rattrap in the cupboard and I could still remember the day my grandfather caught the rat. Well, all I can say that it was such a memorable experience!

A Happiness Of A Lifetime

Certainly this one requires editing. Recently I went to an orphanage and decided to write about it! I added a lot of fiction to it! This picture is a picture of a blind school..

It was one of those beautiful mornings, when my mother called me, when I was joyfully lazing my time laying in the grass on the mountain greenery. I had just turned 8 and my mother had promised me to take me to a beautiful place tomorrow. I was happily gazing at the clouds on a sunny day when I was suddenly disturbed and called by my mother. Eric, We are going to the most beautiful place tomorrow. As I told you, It is the most delightful place you ever dreamed of. It is atop the mountain, she said staring at me. I was tempted by this offer and I acquiesced. In the night I kept thinking of the place. It may be a place filled with fragrant daffodils and beautiful angels. The trees may be sculpted in gold and covered with snow. It may be a place where there is a waterfall. It may be a place filled with spectacular scenery where different kinds of flowers blossom. It may be a place filled with fresh mountain air. It may be a place filled with gardens and brooks. Then slowly after thinking a lot, I slept.

In the morning with high expectations I proceeded with the journey with my mother. The mountain road was a little steep. We walked for some time and took rest and then we started again. I kept on asking her how long would it take to get there, when I was half way. Then suddenly after reaching some distance my mother stopped and I could well read the board, which said "WESTSIDE-HOME TO BLIND CHILDREN!" I was suddenly disappointed. I was wondering why we were coming here. I felt as though I have faltered. Then I went in and Lo and Behold! I could see children who were blind.  They looked awkward. Then I slowly observed them and I suddenly felt some feeling rushing through my mind. I never knew that this could bring me tears. I slowly saw my mother distributing food to the orphans. I felt that she was doing something wonderful and kind. I went to one of them and slowly fondled him. He became happy as soon as I touched him. I could see the joy radiating from his face. I myself then distributed food to all of them. I could sense the pleasure in charity at that time. I felt at the top of the universe at that time. This may not be a beautiful natural landscape but it is certainly a landscape built of love and affection. Then we thanked everyone and started our way home.

Today was the best day and this was the best moment of my life. Then my mother asked me Eric, what do you think about them?. Then, I had to reply fast, God may not have given them eyes like he gave me. But he has certainly given them a lovely home and a place to love and to prosper!

An Enchanting Tale About A Beautiful Mermaid

This story of mine got published in the Times School Newspaper, before 2 months. It was titled 'The Beautiful Mermaid'.However I edited it again and sought the help of one of my online friends who changed the ending slightly..

In the 21st century there erupted a world of science and creation and there came a time, when all the sea creatures including the fairies became united and were very friendly towards each other. Happiness was all around the ocean. But little did the forest animals and human beings know that all the joy around the ocean was due to a singing mermaid who sang by the shore.

The sea- kingdom and all the sea creatures would flock together to hear her beautiful voice. Nature responded to her voice, by supplying cool breezes. Her voice was so excellent and melodious that even the heavens spilled gold and the tides descended. Celestia was her name and as to the origin of her name, she was from the celestial world. Her body was in pink and she wore the most glamorous clothes. The eel always sat near her to hear her songs and the nightingale in the tree was always jealous of her voice.

As time passed by, the mermaid earned name and fame throughout the sea-kingdom. But alas! A day grew near when the mermaid's voice started to weaken. Her voice lost the glorifying touch. The melody in it disappeared. And soon, the voice sounded screeching. "O ye Celestia of Splendor and magnificence, what happened to your beautiful voice?" asked the eel. The mermaid now couldn't even raise her voice to speak. She knew that she had become dumb. Very soon, everybody avoided her. The eel swam away. The nightingale flew away. The heavens stopped pouring gold and the tides raised and fell. The mermaid dejected with life and her voice, decided that she should end her life. She lost all her power and magic. Such was the plight of the beautiful mermaid.

The land of the mermaids, and all the other lands, for that matter, mourned the loss of Celestia. The trees began to grow weak and children could not climb, the flowers began to wither, so no butterfly was fed, and the seas dried up. "Why has our Celestia left us?" asked the fairies. "Now nobody can sing the children to sleep." " I can." said the nightingale. "I have memorized all Celestia's glamorous songs and tunes. And with that, the nightingale began to sing. Everyone listened as the nightingale began to sing, but the nightingales voice did not come out, Celestia's did. "You've stolen Celestia's voice!" cried the mermaids. "You were so jealous, you cast a spell on her and made her lose her voice! Shame!" And then, the nightingale began to cry. "All I wanted was peace!" "It was more peaceful with Celestia. Now youv'e killed her." said the crowd.

And with that, they cast a spell on him! "You shall be made to sing for the rest of your life. Humans will listen to you in their back yards, they will tell you 'sing more!' They will make you sing until you can't any longer, and then Celestia will get her revenge by watching you wither." And that is why nightingales have such a beautiful voice, the voice of Celestia.
